FloDesign has developed a revolutionary new wind turbine that is capable of producing two to three times as much energy as today’s conventional turbines, for a given land area. The FloDesign turbine draws upon advanced aerodynamics and jet engine technology to capture energy from wind through a shroud, using a novel mixer/ejector design with “turbo-charging” characteristics. In addition to enabling higher energy extraction, the FloDesign turbine also has fewer moving parts than traditional turbines, which enables lower operations and maintenance costs and contributes to an overall lower cost of energy.
