Alan has been a senior or managing partner of a dozen venture funds since 1988, with management responsibilities for close to $5 billion of committed capital and hands-on experience working with and funding more than 250 start-up companies. He co-founded VantagePoint in 1996 and oversees all aspects of venture fund management, including organization and fund raising, development and implementation of overall investment strategy, and oversight of investment, divestment and management decisions regarding portfolio companies. Alan is a graduate of the London School of Economics (GC), the University of Toronto (BA), Stanford Law School (JD) and the University of Brussels, Belgium (LLM). He also held a faculty appointment for more than a decade as an Adjunct Professor for Venture Capital and Start-up Companies at Stanford Law School.
