Terry joined VantagePoint in 2007 with more than 20 years of experience in data communication, high-tech manufacturing and advanced application development. Prior to joining VantagePoint, Terry was a Partner with China Venture Management. Terry is the co-founder of three venture-backed companies including, Timogen, a supply chain management company, i-Planet, a developer of leading VPN technology that was acquired by Sun Microsystems, and LiteON Communication, an Ethernet chip company acquired in 2001.

Earlier in his career, Terry served in several key management positions at Compal, the world's second largest manufacturer of notebook computers. Terry helped Compal build its engineering department, and became General Manager of Compal's U.S. branch, setting up the company's logistical, services and customer support center in Silicon Valley. Before joining Compal, Terry worked for Equatorial Satellite Communication Network Systems.

Terry graduated from the National Taiwan University (BS) and University of California at Santa Barbara (MS).
